Commercial Fire Alarm - Testing, Inspection and Maintenance

In addition to State Codes and Regulations regarding systems and their installation and performance, the State of Massachusetts also requires regular inspections, testing and maintenance. The State refers to the National Fire Protection Association, which clearly describes testing intervals and requirements. Depending on the system, inspections may be required quarterly, bi-annually or annually. If you have a Commercial Fire Alarm System and it is not being inspected as described, your building in not compliant with State Codes and Regulations.

Not properly installing, inspecting and/or maintaining a Commercial Fire Alarm System risks legal liability and also violates insurance company requirements, possibly affecting insurance coverage.

DB Systems has found some systems that have been in service for 10-20 years without ever having any inspections or maintenance and in need of service. Your local Fire Department is not obligated to warn or demand that you comply with System Inspections. It is the building owner's responsibility to perform or delegate the duties of engaging a competent company or contractor to inspect and maintain the Fire Alarm System according to applicable regulations.

DB Systems inspects and maintains Fire Alarm Systems that we have installed and also many existing systems, satisfying regulations and resulting in stable, dependable system operation.
